Half way through the week and I'm feeling slightly better about things.

We've made more decisions about moving and decided to do the sensible thing and wait a month so we can actually afford it. It'll be around bonus time for me so I'll have extra money and I'm doing lots of overtime lately, so hopefully things will work out now.

Work is still crazy, but I'm just doing the best I can. At least I'm getting paid to stay late and finish things. I could do with a day in bed though. Roll on Sunday.

This week's Lost was much better than last week's. I can't believe there's only 2 episodes to go (1 more week!) but it feels like everything is being wrapped up and I'm very excited for the finale.

Now I just have to finish Glee... which is awesome! NPH ftw! \o/

On a politics front (or possibly an aside) I have decided not to worry about anything. This week I've been watching my Drop the Dead Donkey dvds, and you know what was happening in the world 20 years ago? War in Iraq, economy in recession, Tory fear over Europe, Labour in meltdown, executive pay/bonuses... So I predict that by 2017 there'll be a new wave of Cool Britannia (only with a better name hopefully), a couple of big British bands, a couple of big British films, booming economy and a left-wing government that wants to improve public services.

I'm watching the news right now, feeling all sorts of emotions. Over-riding is the feeling of pride in Gordon Brown who has been so glorious and dignified all evening. I've always thought people should have been nicer to him and have greater respect for him. I hope he can have a happy future with his family and ignore the press and political commentators who are on the whole, ridiculous and seem to know absolutely nothing about the system they are commentating on.

I have so many mixed feelings about the (almost) inevitable Conservative/Lib-Dem coalition. I can only hope it will lead to some sort of good being done for the most vulnerable people, instead of the the usual right-wing bullshit.

I have been ranting to [livejournal.com profile] ditchwitchbitch about politics for about an hour now. It's a sign of how good a friend she is, that she hasn't told me to stfu yet. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so interested in it. Ah well, maybe I'll just watch four seasons of The West Wing and pretend that politicians are smart and caring for a change.

Today is my sister's birthday and because she had to spend it at work, she is coming to visit me tomorrow. \o/ It's going to be so good to see her.

New Psych on July 21st? Is it July yet?

I will catch up with my meme this weekend.

It's nearing the end of election day and the exit polls are making me sad, so I'm going to bed. With any luck, David Cameron wont be in charge in the morning.

So first of all, if you're British, go here and sign the petition if you agree. Though frankly if all the people signing it had just voted in the first place.... Don't get me started again. I was very pleased to see a group of people protesting in town today. It gives me hope.

Yesterday I was very stupid and didn't update my address on Paypal before I bought [livejournal.com profile] doublefourtime's birthday present, so the delivery address went through as a house I lived in 3 years ago. I sent begging emails to the company and got this response today:

Hey Jacqueline

(that was my name for the first 3 days I was alive btw. Just a fun tidbit about me) I have changed your shipping to your billing address so it will show up there instead:) Im sorry for the issue and let me know if there is anything more I can do to help:)

I don't even know what to say about it, except that it amuses me greatly.

Today I got my new membership pack from Northern Downpour. And with my pretty new t-shirt was this )

I could not love Panic more right now if I tried.

And finally. The Simpson-Wentz's have just become my favourite celebrity family. Things like this make my whole day better

You know, it's days like these I'm so ashamed to be British it's almost unbelievable. Is there any country in the world that isn't filled with disgusting racist fascists? If so, how do you go about moving there?

Edit: And you know what pisses me off the most? The fact that the electorate of Yorkshire and the Humber is nearly 4 million people. 1.2 million people voted. Probably less than the number of people who voted in Big Brother tonight. If the other 3 million people had voted, I doubt the BNP would have gained their first seat. I don't care who you are and what you think about politics, but this is the reason for elections. This is the reason its important to vote in elections. So anyone who didn't vote, I'm just as angry at you right now as the idiots who voted for a group of ignorant bigots.
