Thursday

The panels started at 10am. We had to fight for our seats, but as I said, it was totally worth it. Burn Notice and Covert Affairs were first. I knew hardly anything about Burn Notice and nothing about Covert Affairs, but by the end of the panels I was rather intrigued and now I'd quite like to try them out.

Bruce Campbell was hilarious!

Peter Gallagher!!!!!

Psych was the third panel. The Friendly Indians sang the theme song (including the second verse -shut up, it was exciting) and everyone joined in, which was fun and silly. The clips they showed of next season looked really good and the new scene they screened was brilliant. Their questions and answers actually addressed a lot of the things we'd been worried about and I honestly left more excited about Psych that I have been in about a year. Tim was super hot, Maggie was gorgeous, Kirsten was hysterical (we need more of the Chief!!!!) and Dule spent most of the time tweeting. So that's pretty much an average day for them. Oh and Kurt Fuller! Yay!

Ringer was the last panel we saw on Thursday. I waited 12 years to be in the same room as Sarah Michelle Gellar and it was so much fun to actually see her and hear her talk about her show. She was so excited and to be fair, it actually looks like it's going to be interesting. The more they talked about it, the more I wanted to see it. The trailers looked really good. One of the most interesting things I found out, as a Buffy fan, was that Kristoffer Polaha auditioned for the part of Riley in Buffy and lost out to Marc Blucas. I think if it had worked out the other way, I'd have liked Riley a lot more.

We picked up our free Psych and Covert Affairs t-shirts and out Ringer camp stool after that, and collected our tickets for Nerd HQ the following day.

Friday

Thanks to the assigned seats at our three Nerd HQ panels, we didn't have to get up early on Friday, so weren't completely exhausted. We saw Firefly with Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite and Alan Tudyk, which was very funny...

...Psych, with Tim, Dule, Steve Franks and Chris Henze. Dule Hill high-fived me! That was the greatest moment, possibly of anything. I've loved him as long as I've loved Sarah Michelle Gellar, pretty much, so that was awesome.

...and then Dominic Monaghan, which was quite a treat. He was funny and he told a lot of good stories. He even brought Elijah along, who laughed hysterically when Dom called Astin an idiot. It was really interesting hearing him talk. He's tiny in person too. Pretty much hobbit sized.

I actually think the best part of the whole Nerd HQ experience was seeing Zachary Levi, who introduced every panel and stayed there pretty much the whole time, talking to everyone and thanking people for coming and supporting that and supporting Chuck. He seemed like a really nice guy.

We sadly missed out on The Big Bang Theory signing, but went to the Robot Chicken panel instead, which made me laugh so hard I was almost crying. I love Seth Green. And then we stayed in the lobby for a while and saw about twenty famous people, including Gerard Way and Lyn-z, Ray Toro, Ian Somerhalder, Brecken Meyer, Judy Greer, Dominic Monaghan and John Barrowman.

Saturday

We managed another lie-in on Saturday before lining up to see the Community panel. We had to sit through Attack of the Show, Sanctuary and Being Human US to get there, but it was worth it. I love that Dan Harmon actually has a plan for his show and knows what he wants to do with it. Everything he said made sense, even the Glee bashing (especially the Glee bashing). Chevy Chase is bizzare, but endearing. Donald Glover and Danny Pudi are so funny. I love that show.

After that we went to the Fringe panel for surprise!Joshua Jackson, welcoming us to Pacey-con 2011 and the Alcatraz panel for the screening of the first episode. It seems like pretty dull formulaic TV, to be honest, but the prison warden is hot, so I may watch it at some point.

Then we went to the Good Vibes panel and disappointed the kid in front of us in line by only wanting to see Adam Brody. The show itself is definitely not my kind of thing, but Adam Brody is, so I didn't care too much. Someone asked the rudest question there though, about why he'd never gotten any work after The OC. I would have slapped him in the face, so kudos to AB for being gracious about it.

Sunday

The last day of Comic-Con and we started it at 2am to get in line for Doctor Who in Hall H. I hated Hall H. It's such a souless room and I don't think it lends itself well to the format of TV panels. Glee was a nightmare to sit through. Supernatural was better than I thought it was going to be and people asked some pretty decent questions.

The Doctor Who panel was great though. Everyone was really into it. Matt answered all the questions and was very knowledgeable and excited about the show. Karen was the most adorable fangirl in the world and gleefully exclaimed about how she'd met Brent Spiner the night before and pretty much dissed Will Wheaton in the process. They showed the new trailer and a new clip, both of which looked super exciting.

Before I went, I didn't realise how much I would love Comic-Con, but I came away feeling more excited about fandom than I have in the longest time. Being surrounded by thousands of people who are all as excited as each other about something similar - maybe not that exact show, or that exact movie, or that exact comic book - is liberating and fun because they get it. They get what's it's like to be a fan and care about something and I think it makes you care more. I don't think there's anything more weird about loving a film than there is about loving a sport, and yet sports fans are treated as normal people and geeks are made out to be freaks. Well I know I'd rather be a freak.

I had the best time and I'd love to go again.

That kid really was kind of pissed at us, wasn't he? LOL.

We really did have an awesome time. Despite the lack of sleep and bitchy line people and crazy Psych/Doctor Who fans, Comic Con is just awesome

I was almost afraid to talk to him, he was so adamant all the girls were there for the wrong reasons. Hahah!

It was so much fun. Thank you for taking me honey.
