It's only 12 seconds so again, there's not a lot to go on. But they're working and it sounds so different to what Brendon and Spencer are doing. I'm not surprised they wanted to work separately anymore. Sad that it happened, but at least they're being mature about it.

I really don't get the sheer volume of hate and wank over this. They're doing what they need to do to be happy. They don't live their lives for us.

Yes. People are being babies. I get sad (hell, I am still sad), but sad and thinking it's reasonable that people you don't know should live their lives according to your whims and wishes is pretty ridiculous in my head.

No lyrics. Honestly it's just a few bars of guitar, but where Brendon and Spencer's is meant to be a natural progression from AFYCSO, this is definitely natural progression from PO. It's sounds more raw - maybe more relaxed, very sixties, classic. I'm probably not going to be right on any of that. Or make any sense. :D

I have to admit that I was secretly wishing the next Panic album would sound a little bit more like Fever... and then I felt guilty about it because the band obviously needs to make the music they want. And now we get it both ways and I'm happy. :x I get it that the fandom is upset, but really, it's not like they all now hate each other. Though Panic isn't my ~*favourite*~ band ever so... If MCR did this I would probably be crying in a corner somewhere now, lol.

I don't think they hate each other. I think, like they said, they've just gone in different directions and I don't think it'd be fair to force something if it's just not working. And while I have been crying in a corner occasionally, I don't think this deserves all the wank that's been appearing. I think some people are never happy unless they're miserable. ;)

I'm feeling like I could just type THIS all over.

It is very different and yeah, kudos to them for being mature about needing the split since the music they want to focus on is very different. I could like them both.

Main comms are still activities to induce frustration, but my flist has been cool about it; not meaning we are all in one accord, but no one is discussing voodoo dolls or being extreme about the split.

The split is still a sore spot for me but the new music is helping and I have to say that I loved the timing of the Oh Glory snippet because that became the topic of conversation and not Poorly Timed Picture Discussion Day 2.

My hope is that fandom eventually settles down. I know some people may leave and if they have to, then so be it; but I'd hope some of the madness dies down with some time, granted nothing extreme happens in real life to get everyone all flustered again.

I don't think everyone is ever going to feel the same about this. I saw people on Monday who were really excited and people on Friday who were still in shock, but I'm trying to stay away from all the !!!! people and posts and comms because life is just too short to be made miserable by all the wank. I'm not happy about them splitting but I'm trying to be optimistic.

Those photos really did arrive at the worst possible time. Poor Ryan. Like he wasn't already getting blamed.

I think once the dust settles good things will happen. I have faith in them.

Everyone is never going to feel the same about anything. I know some people who were very happy with the split and who left with whom from the very beginning and I know some are still very sad about it. I'm still sad and I don't think I'll ever stop looking at the four guys together as a thing to fondly remember and to kind of miss what I hoped they would become. But I'm trying to be optimistic about this as well because I'd rather to have music made that the artists enjoy making than stuff they hate to perform.

But recent peeks at their new music has shown a big split and I don't see how they could have reconciled those two styles now. (Double disc?) Do I one day hope they can reconcile and tour and make music together? Yes. But even if they didn't, I wouldn't be mad.

And the wank :( Yeah, I'm just staying away from it.

Admittedly Ryan never was my favorite in the fandom or in real life, but I don't see how he can be to blame for a decision that the four of them made.

Yeah, everyone has their opinions and their right to elaborate on them in their own journals, but I'm going to exercise my right to ignore some things before I get upset at someone being *wrong* on the internet.

I am excited to see what both groups come out with musically. (Both AFYCSO and PO served different music needs for me, so I will probably treat the albums like a double disc and choose a fanon of split projects with an amicable split!)

I really do love this fandom and I'm sure some great stuff, that's maybe already being worked on, will come out of this too. I've seen some people post how this has made them want to write more and even if I can't read it (break up fic almost made me cry last night but it was worth it!), I always support more fic.

I actually thought they could have done a double disc too. Two different styles, but keeping everyone happy. But again, if you just don't like playing something... Maybe they considered it and decided they couldn't do it in time. I don't know. We'll never know.

Ryan is my favourite member of Panic and even before this (and the last drug thing and the Keltie thing) people hated him and I've never really understood why. This isn't the place to go into a huge explanation but I don't think he deserves all the crap that's piled on him.

I haven't read any fic yet, (I can't bring myself too) but I am writing. Weird huh?

I came into Panic later than most (right before PO came out) and I don't want to leave this extremely long comment in your lj, so: it seems to me that Ryan and Brendon often get the most intense attention/adoration from panic fans, but with Ryan it seems especially quick to flip to negative.

You know, I'm always having these thoughts about celebrity but I'm going to say that I when it comes to artists/etc, I can criticize the music, the book, the movie, but I'm less inclined to have more than a passing interest in their actual lives. I guess it's more like I save my actual dislike for people I actually know.

I'm sure there are fans of the music that have things they dislike about each of the guys. I do too, but it never amounts to extreme dislike.

I know that certain personalities just don't appeal to me but I don't hate those people, and so much of the hate seems really personal.

Sometimes I would just like to ask some of the people: did Ryan Ross come by and kick you in the shins recently?

If you ever did make a post talking about why your Ryan is your favorite, I would read it. I like reading posts by people who are enthusiastic about what they like and like talking about why. Squee at its finest.

It's not weird that you are writing, everyone has different reactions. It took me days to get through two stories while breezing through star trek fic/rpf and I was even able to chat about ideas with some friends but I couldn't even look at some WIP until Friday night without just staring at the screen and moping.
