Supernatural 3.06

What I liked

1. The ghost ship itself. Dude, that was awesome,

2. The plot. I think it had huge potential and generally lived up to it. (But see below)

3. Dean's reaction to his car being stolen. The hyperventilating and reassuring Sammy were perfect.

4. "Can I shoot her?"
"Not in public."

5. Bela. I still like Bela. She's interesting and flawed and she doesn't irritate the crap out of me. Her accent on the other hand... Why oh why can't she just be American?

6. Sam and Dean all dressed up looking super pretty. I was 100% behind Bela when she said she and Dean should have angry sex. *nods*

What I didn't like

1. It could have been more plotty. For some reason I feel like we've been getting less and less supernatural as the weeks have gone by. When I think about season one episodes which were very focused on the myths and legends and the supernatural element, yet at the same time managed to explore Sam and Dean's relationship, I begin to feel like the show is changing too much into a soap opera. Right now I kind of feel like this whole episode was a series of tiny things which were meant to interrupt Sam and Dean having a fight and lead up to Sam leaving Dean at some point.

Overall Rating
B. Funny, well performed and complete with suits, pretty frocks and sparkling diamonds. I still think we can do better.
