Supernatural 2.22
Jun. 27th, 2007 06:21 pmLet's forget it was so long ago shall we?
Carry On My Wayward Son, yay!
Dean is so lost without Sam. He's so pale and still - he looks half dead himself. I adore Bobby so much. I love the way he takes on the fathering role, without it being explicit. He wants Dean to eat. He wants to bury Sam and get them out of there. But Dean's so intent on starving and drinking himself to death.
And Dean's so angry with everything and everyone - Jensen is wonderful in that scene - but he still aplogises to Bobby for shouting at him. The "conversation" he has with Sam showing just how heartbroken he is... Dean really is the best big brother ever but he needs to sort out his insecurity issues. Sadly he can't do that without Sam.
HUGGING!!! OMGYAYE!11! Next year Sammy really needs to hug Dean back.
Was I the only one who was pleased that Dean was sad Andy had died?
Sam lying about the demon showing him their mother and finding out she had known him means he's going to be the "secret keeper" next year. I hope that comes out soon and they don't keep us hanging around all season. I don't need to know the answer (yet) but I do want Sam to share with Dean at some point.
One of my favourite parts of the episode - the look on Bobby's face when he sees Sam is alive; the look he gives Dean that says "I'm going to whip your ass". And I will love Bobby forever for that scene in the yard where he calls Dean on his issues and his opinion of himself.
I'm glad Ellen's alive. I hope she and Jo will be back next season at some point.
The Devil's Trap on the grouns - genius!
I will miss the snarky demon - "I'm shocked at this unforeseen turn of events" - but I'm glad that they took the opportunity and finished one part of the story, pushing it forward and changing the dynamic.
I love the moment Sam realises what happened. Not all the ins and outs but Sam's a smart boy and once Jake says he killed him, Sam knows Dean did something. I don't think it was that Sam came back wrong so much as two years of anger and hate finally boiled over.
I adore the parallel with last year's finale. Sam pinned to thewall tree and the demon taunting Dean.
Of course John climbed out of hell for his boys!!
I'm disappointed they didn't mention Jess at all. I mean Sam wouldn't have gone back to hunting if she hadn't been killed and I thought there should have been some mention that she'd actually existed.
Finally, Sam & Dean's talk by the car. ♥ It's satisfying that when Sam really calls him on it Dean doesn't lie, just tells him the truth and gives him his reasons as though it should be obvious. Only topped by Sammy telling Dean what he doesn't know (that he loves Dean as much as Dean loves him) and that he'll save him.
I LOVE MY SHOW SO MUCH!
