I don't know if I liked it or not. I'm still debating with myself. There was a lot in it that I liked but overall it felt ... weirdly wrong, and not just because of Heart.

Going back to that for a minute, I didn't hate Heart. I actually loved it up until the last few minutes, but even then it felt like my show. I also don't believe that Sam would be as broken up about Madison as most people on my flist seem to want him to be. He wasn't in love with Madison. He cared about her and he slept with her, but she wasn't his girlfriend. She was a pretty, smart, nice girl he liked and had sex with. They hadn't reached the love/girlfriend stage. He was broken up that he had to kill her; sick and hurting and he didn't want to do it. But he did. Because he's Sam and that was the right thing to do. He's had to do things he didn't want to before. Things he hated doing. But he did them. He would move on, maybe not fast, but it would more likely add to the guilt of not being able to save an innocent person, rather than be about her in particular. Sam has been carrying guilt around since he was 6 months old and he knows how to deal with that. I think it ties in pretty well with what happened after Ava went missing. Dean expected him to be mopey and crying then but he wasn't. And this week he was more subdued, less willing to get involved. It makes sense.

Back to this week's episode and my problem is, it didn't really feel like my show. It felt a bit awkward. Sam and Dean weren't actually in it much and they didn't have anything to do. There was no real plot and no character development.

But (because I seem to have rambled on in negativity for an age) I did like...

Dean. Oh Dean, I love you. Dean is a geek. Dean is the sort of person who absorbs random and seemingly useless information. Dean is smart. Very smart. I want smart Dean back. He can't pass up free food after a lifetime on the road not knowing where the food is coming from. He gets nervous and star-struck and geeks out over movies and actors.

He gets the pretty girl! I have to say I've been waiting for Dean to have sex. He hasn't had sex in a looooong time. Next time I want to see it. And he's adorable and unapologetic.

He is capable. He is good at his work. He is good at following orders (he spent his whole life being raised to do that) and takes pride in doing a job well. Dean is ♥.

The scene in the graveyard. My favourite scene in the episode. Of course Dean fanboys The Ramones.

Sam: You wanna dig him up too?
Dean: Bite your tongue, heathen!

♥ I enjoyed the episode for that alone.
