I have decided to challenge myself to a writing task this month. Every day I will write a fic based on one of the fandoms that has interested me in the course of my life. I'm hoping it will get me back into writing again and hopefully it will provide you, my dear friends, with interesting and varied reading material.

Title: Dare Day
Fandom: Bandom
Pairing: Pete/Patrick
Author: [livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw
Rating: NC17
Inspiration: June 1st is apparently National Dare Day.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 500

1st June: Dare Day - Bandom )

Happy Sunday flist. How are you all?

This week has been full of bandom drama and Pete Wentz being, well, Pete Wentz. I love him and I love FOB and I'm not worried, mostly because I'd actually rather they called it quits than did something they didn't want do. I really do think they'll be just fine though.

It actually made me think about bandom and how there's not actually much going on at the moment and how I'm spending all my free time reading Psych and Sherlock Holmes fic, and how I'm drifting that way, fandom-wise.

TV-wise this week has been awesome. I have officially semi given-up on How I Met Your Mother. Its place in my heart has been taken up by Community and this week's episode of that made my heart fill with glee. Of course Lost also started its last season and wow, I was so impressed with it. I'll be sad to see it go. I have theory, but it's almost bound to be wrong so I'm not going to bother writing it down.

Five weeks today I will be in San Francisco. We've now bought everything we need to before we go. I bought tickets for LOVE in Las Vegas and [livejournal.com profile] ditchwitchbitch bought our Disneyland tickets. I'm going to have a pineapple smoothie in Santa Barbara like the true fangirly geek I am.

Also, I upgraded my phone when I renewed my contract and I'm getting a Blackberry Curve. It should be arriving tomorrow. I'm so excited!

Meme

I have had a bad, miserable day. The WACD video is downloading (thank you friends, for your help with that :D ) so that may... make me cry.

Edit: It did make me cry, but in a good way. I love it. ♥Patrick Stump♥

So why don't you fill out this meme so I can think of happy things while I try to write something sexy good.

Ask me my fannish Top Five [Whatevers]. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! And I will answer them all in a new post. Possibly with pictures.

So the video for What a Catch, Donnie is out and I really want to see it, but because I live in the UK that's apparently not allowed. Does anyone have a version I can actually watch?

Two Points

I have come to two conclusions today.

1. The real reason Panic(!) at the Disco broke up, is that they're all just too hot to be on a stage together now. Clearly it's a health and safety issue. Things would catch on fire. People would faint. No one Zack wants to do all that paperwork. I have proof )

2. The Simpson-Wentz Family is the most adorable "showbiz" family in the world.

Proof? Oh Bronx!

And "Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her rocker husband Pete Wentz were delighted to hear their baby boy Bronx’s first words - because they were directed at the proud parents.
The pair welcomed Bronx Mowgli in November (08) and admit the tot has transformed their lives.
And the pop singer was ecstatic when the eight month old started speaking - uttering “mama” and “dada” as his first words.
Simpson-Wentz tells America’s OK! magazine, “Every week, I’m learning something new from him and every week, he’s doing something new. He’s crawling and he’s got six teeth now. He says mama and dada.”
Little Bronx also looks set to follow in his parents’ footsteps - he’s already showing signs of entering the music business.
His mum adds, “He loves music. Lately, he likes classic rock and Broadway music! My home life is all about Bronx.”

My Fall Out Boy Meet & Greet photo is here.

You can kind of see me. Hidden at the back, wrapped around Patrick. ♥_♥

[livejournal.com profile] ditchwitchbitch assures me that Pete was standing on his tip-toes. *g* Oh Pete!

I realise I haven't posted my photos yet but I have 990 more to sort through before I can even think about that.

Thursday we had a lazy morning and drove to Hot Doug's for the best hot dogs in Chicago. There was long line but they were worth it. I managed to buy some new clothes at Target too which made me very happy. That afternoon we went to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs play the Padres. It was a surprisingly fun experience for my first ever sporting event. I had a giant pretzel and got annoyed at the people sitting in front of us and wondered out-loud quite often why no one was actually hitting the ball. It was great. Afterwards we went back to the pier for a sunset cruise around the bay. Kerry and I raised a sail all by ourselves, which was an experience. The city is so pretty at night, all lit up. The lights and the water are beautiful. We had dinner at 44th Ward Dinner Party again and Cory remembered us (I got a photo with him, but it's sadly lost forever now). Then we headed out to Angels & Kings to see what it was like when it wasn't so crowded. I really like it there, even if the drinks are a bit strong.

Friday - Fall Out Boy in Indianapolis )

I'll post about my trip home when I post my pictures which will hopefully be tomorrow. There are far too many photos.

I am home. I am tired. I have a nice film to watch and then bed. Tomorrow last holiday post and photos. Then two solid weeks of work on my big bang. I really don't want to go to work tomorrow.

Also, may I just add: PATRICK!!!!!

And: Pete&Ashlee guys. OTP ♥

Sunday we woke up far too early, but managed to drag ourselves out of bed to have a gorgeous lunch at Gino's, an amazing pizza place where you can write on the walls and with the nicest pizza in the world (probably).

That afternoon we went to Navy Pier and took a lot of photos of the boats and the skyline as we walked up. We came back down through the fun shops and gardens, went on the carousel, ferris wheel and played miniature golf. I also got a very pretty tattoo of a swan on my wrist. Sadly it's just paint so it won't be there in a week, but I love it. If I didn't think it would hurt like hell I'd get it done properly.

After dinner we went to the cinema. Star Trek Spoilers )

On Monday we walked down to the The Bean and visited the art museum. It was a lovely relaxing morning and we saw a lot of fantastic paintings. The Bean was incredible and we got some good photos there. After lunch at the Rainforest Cafe (sat next to the elephants) we drove up to the TV studio where Fall Out Boy were going to perform. We sat outside with a great group of people and a fab security guard who thought Patrick looked like a Randy and couldn't be convinced that wasn't his name.

We got inside the studio at 6.30pm and because we'd being waiting so long, the floor manager let us stand up front. We were in the second row, right between Patrick and Pete. It was the closest I've ever been to them and truly one of the best things I've ever done. Patrick and Pete both smiled at me (shut up, they totally did) and Pete looked a lot happier than he did on Saturday (possibly because Ashlee was there with him). It was so cool to have them talking between the songs and while they changed the tapes. The whole experience was such fun, even though it does mean I will be on TV in July.

The taping finished at 9.30 and we drove up to Milwaukee.... More on that later.

Bonus: A photo from Angels & Kings on Friday night. Gabe showing off for Kerry

Well I'm having the best time in Chicago. I love this city. It's gorgeous and we're such a lot of fun. A lot of that admittedly comes from Fall Out Boy so far.

In which I ramble for a while about meeting Patrick Stump )

Watch out for my next post, which will consist of adventures on Navy Pier, amazing pizza and Star Trek.

Today has been the longest day. I got up at 4am and my train to the airport left at 5.30am. I got through security no problem and waited to board my plane which left at 10.35. I was so tired and willing to sleep on the plane because I knew I'd have to be awake the rest of the day, but I couldn't get comfortable and there were annoying loud people around me so I could only doze.

Coming into the airport though, flying down over the lake was incredible. I wish I could have got some photos of it. Immigration was, for once, not a problem, but that could have been because when he asked what I was doing here I said "I meet Fall Out Boy tomorrow!" I think he thought I was crazy.

[livejournal.com profile] ditchwitchbitch was there to pick me up and I felt strangely awake as we set off towards the city, but it was two hours of traffic and the gps sending us the wrong way before we actually got to the hotel and by that time I was in desperate need of a shower and some painkillers.

We went to the Clan store (not what I was expecting - it's so small!) and a few other shops before having dinner at 44th Ward Dinner Party which served lovely food, had a great atmosphere, and we were served by a really sweet guy named Cor(e)y.

We caught the El back to they city and now I am finally going to sleep.

FALL OUT BOY TOMORROW!!!

I'm just about to go to bed. Everything is done I think and I have to be up in 7 hours. I'm so nervous.

I'm taking my computer with me for the first time so I'll update when I'm away. I'm sure I'm going to have a lot to say about MEETING FALL OUT BOY ON SATURDAY!!!
wednesday_whimsy: (falloutboy_cartoon)
I am going to try my best to post every day this month. And comment more. I used to be so good at this. What happened?

Tonight I went out with a friend I used to work with and her husband, and we had a very nice time, even if they do think that a bottle of wine should be consumed before a meal and not during/after it. I am therefore more tipsy than I really should be.

I have good news though! Since [livejournal.com profile] ditchwitchbitch is made of awesome, we have two tickets to the Mastercard Soundstage taping thing (idk) with Fall Out Boy and 48 other people on Monday. EEEEEE!!

Two more days of work and I'm on holiday again. Woo hoo!
wednesday_whimsy: (falloutboy_pete/patrick hug)
I have an artist and a fanmixer for my big bang and that makes me very excited and wanting this thing to be the best that it can be. I don't really know what the protocol now is though. Should I friend them, talk to them, leave them alone and not stalk them? Someone should really tell you these things.

In other news I've had a good and productive day. I got my hair cut by a nice guy called Steve who wearing a Led Zeppelin t-shirt, leather jacker and was covered in tattoos. He didn't say much to me beyond "Just trust me it'll be great". I think he's probably the best hairdresser ever.

And now I look like this )

I got everything I needed for my trip next Friday, except maybe something new to wear. Actually I can't believe it's less than a week now. In fact, a week today I will be MEETING FALL OUT BOY! Patrick Stump will be right there, looking at me and my pretty hair. I'm going to be making stupid high pitched noises the whole day.
wednesday_whimsy: (pete/ashlee_too cute)
By midnight, my personal target for my big bang fic is supposed to be 11500 words, just to keep me on track. But as I haven't touched it for almost three weeks it's unlikely that that is going to happen. Instead of working on it (3 weeks! I'm actually scared to look at it!) I'm looking at all the stuff I started and didn't finish. Most of it is Panic stuff, with one Pete/Patrick that I wanted to read so badly but don't think I'm good enough to pull it off.

So beneath the cut is a lot of fic that will probably never see the light of day. Or at least not for a good while.

Five Fics I want to write )
wednesday_whimsy: (fall out boy)
[livejournal.com profile] giddy_london is working very hard on her schoolwork and I should probably be using this time to write some more of my big bang fic, but instead I'm playing Fall Out Boy Trail and cursing everything for being unable to get past LA. Damn you Pete Wentz.

ETA: I won! \o/ Finally. Now I can watch Lost and Laura can write her paper and I never have to play it again. Maybe.

It's Fall Out Boy's Top 20 Comedy Videos on TMF right now.

Let me commentate )

OMG I AM GOING TO MEET FOB IN CHICAGO!!!!!
wednesday_whimsy: (spn_lingo)
You know what I really hate right now? People who never once talked to you at school friending you on Facebook and then a) expecting you to friend them back, and b) never talking to you on there either. What's the point? We clearly weren't friends at school and you haven't talked to me in ten years so isn't this just a huge waste of time?

In the land of the "not so thinky" I have to confess to being a lot a little bit in love with Top Gear. It just makes me laugh and laugh and laugh, more than any comedy show on tv. So yes I am fangirling. I am not too proud to admit it. I even have fic and a ship, which makes me oddly happy.

On the bus home today I recognised that the guy next to me was listening to FOB even though all I could hear was a faint tinny beat. Oh Patrick ♥ Listening to you singing Sugar... makes my squee no matter how I hear it.

[livejournal.com profile] hils and I had a very nice evening of TV and video games. I'll post about those tomorrow. Now I think it is time for bed.
