I was doing so well at the start of the year and I've failed to keep up with updating like I wanted to these past couple of months. That's going to change now, since I have a busy few weeks planned and there will be lots of updates.

So Psych has reached the end of its 6th season. Overall it was a vast improvement on Season 5. There isn't an episode I wouldn't watch again. It didn't exactly end the way I hoped it would. I really want Juliet to find out about Shawn, because I don't like that she's dating someone who is lying to her every single day. They need to address it and deal with what happens next. That said, what actually happened wasn't at all what I was expecting. I really hope the aftermath is something that they go into properly next year.

Community continues to be the best thing on TV. Troy and Abed's break-up and reunion were heartbreaking and adorable in turns. Jeff and Annie are adorable and the evolution of their relationship and how close they're growing is making me so happy. As is Troy's love for Britta. The last episode was amazing.

I have been catching up with Gossip Girl. I stopped watching Gossip Girl just a few episodes into season 3, but my Tumblr has been full of Dan/Blair recently, so I decided to buy myself seasons 3 and 4 and catch-up with what I missed. In general I hate it and everyone in it - especially Serena, omg - but now half-way through season 4 I have finally hopped on board the Dan/Blair train. They're incredibly cute together.

The Avengers is only a week away. This time next week I'll be in the cinema watching it. Time is moving too slowly. I would appreciate it if people would stop putting spoilers in their fic tags though. Surely that's bad form. I'm hoping I'll be able to finish my own fic before it gets jossed next week.

Who wants to talk to me about how awesome Phil is? If you haven't seen the full version of this, you're missing out on bamfy awesomeness in the extreme

Life stuff in a separate update.

Are those supposed to be cuts? There's something wrong. I want to know how you feel about Community! :D

They're spoiler cuts. They should just reveal what's underneath.

Overall it was a vast improvement on Season 5.

Agreed. I think the central reason was that Season Six returned the focus to Shawn/Gus, which had always been the heart and soul of the series. Far too much of Season Five was dedicated to Shawn/Jules, which wasn't even a B-plot dynamic in earlier seasons, even at the expense of Shawn/Gus screentime, especially in the middle of the season. Season Six wasn't perfect--e.g., I would have liked the Shawn&Henry interaction spaced out better across the season, intead of crammed into the final episode, but it had a metric ton's worth of improvement over Season Five.

It didn't exactly end the way I hoped it would. I really want Juliet to find out about Shawn, because I don't like that she's dating someone who is lying to her every single day. They need to address it and deal with what happens next.

I did my own rant ( on why and how much the lack of reveal is bothering me at this point and comparing it to the Season Four finale of Merlin and that show's equally frustrating lack of reveal. [/pimp]

Your review makes a lot of excellent points. I've never wanted Shawn and Juliet together as a couple, because from what I can see, he doesn't really deserve her. As you say, he shows no remorse or conflict about his behaviour. Maybe he does feel it and we just don't see it, but all that presents the viewer with is a man in his early thirties, lying to a woman he supposedly loves and manipulating everyone and everything to get his own way.

It's starting to bother me more and more than Shawn never loses. It's not that we don't know he's fallible. He makes mistakes constantly, but he always wins. And while in the first couple of seasons he had the charm and the intelligence to make you like that, I feel like the longer the show goes on, the less likeable Shawn becomes. He's losing all the things that made me love him. Every once in a while you see it again and you think maybe they're going to turn it around, but it never seems to last.

Maybe they'll address the problems next season. I was worried about where things were headed at the beginning of this year but I was pleasantly surprised. And they do seem to be leading up to a reveal. I thought that was going to happen when Juliet's dad arrived for his special cameo and wouldn't give Shawn his blessing because he knows Shawn's a con artist. I'm just disappointed they didn't follow through. The longer it goes on the worse the fallout should be and I'm worried that they'll just have Juliet shrug her shoulders and get over it in a week.

A+ on all points.

I also agree with everything you wrote about Community, but I never know what else to add about that series besides "Perfect Show is Perfect."
